The first half of 2007 saw 63,507 sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration. The Land Registry said this was a rise of 32.5% compared with the same period last year and a 24.1% rise on the second half of 2006.

 

The total consideration of these agreements was $213.66 billion, up 31.5% and 39.9% compared with the first and second half of 2006.

 

During the first six months, 71,371 assignments of building units were lodged for registration. This was 15.5% above the 61,805 assignments recorded in the first half of last year and 11.2% above the 64,178 recorded during the second half of 2006.

 

The total consideration amounted to $193.22 billion, up 20.5% on the first half of last year and 14.1% on the second half of 2006.

 

Searches of land records made by the public during the first half of 2007 totalled 2,175,766. This was up 12.1% and 7.9% compared with the first and second half of 2006.
