Total exports up 11.3% in April

In April, the volume of Hong Kong's goods re-exports rose 13% over the same month last year, while that of domestic exports fell 17.6%. Taken together, the volume of total goods exports rose 11.3%. In the month, the volume of goods imports grew 14%.

 

Comparing the first four months of 2007 with the same period last year, the volume of Hong Kong's goods re-exports rose 11.2%, while that of domestic exports fell 29.7%. Taken together, the volume of total goods exports rose 8.7%. At the same time, the volume of goods imports grew 9.9%.

 

Comparing April with the same month last year, the prices of goods re-exports rose 2.3%, while those of domestic exports grew 0.7%. Taken together, the prices of total goods exports rose 2.2%. The prices of goods imports, meanwhile, grew 2.4%.

 

In the first four months of 2007 over the same period last year, the prices of goods re-exports rose 2.7%, while those of domestic exports grew 0.4%. Taken together, the prices of total goods exports rose 2.5%. The prices of goods imports also grew 2.5%.
