There were 1,064 bankruptcy petitions presented in March, up 32.8% on February, and up 19.6% on last year's average monthly figure of 890.
The Official Receiver's Office said the court made 803 bankruptcy orders during the month, up 24.5% on the previous month's figure of 645, but down 6.6% on the average monthly figure of 860 last year.
