March saw 9,470 sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration. The Land Registry said this was a rise of 3.1% on February and a 2.8% rise on March last year.

 

Using a 12-month moving average, the figure for March rose 0.2% on February but fell 8.8% on March last year.

 

The total consideration of these agreements was $32 billion, up 20.4% over February and 26.4% over a year earlier.

 

Of the agreements, 8,039 were for residential units. This was an increase of 3% on February and a 7.8% rise on March last year. 

 

The agreements' total consideration was $25.2 billion, up 13.8% on February. Compared with the same period last year, the figure climbed 26.9%.
