The value of fine jewellery exports rose 13.7% to US$3.7 billion last year, Trade Development Council Jewellery Advisory Committee Chairman Charles Chan says.

Opening the HK International Jewellery Show 2007 today, Mr Chan said exports to Hong Kong's top three markets also grew, with the US up 7%, the UK up 11% and France up 32% on the previous year.

"Promising results were achieved in developing markets as well, with exports to the Mainland, India and Russia jumping 47%, 83% and 209% respectively," he added.

The show will run until March 10 at the Convention & Exhibition Centre, and has attracted more than 2,180 exhibitors from 41 countries and regions. For details click here.
