pda leisure guide
Instant info: Travellers can now find instant information on shopping, dining, entertainment and sightseeing in Hong Kong thanks to the new PDA version of the Tourism Board's Leisure Guide.
*

Travellers can now find instant information on shopping, dining, entertainment and sightseeing in Hong Kong with just a few clicks thanks to the new Personal Digital Assistant version of the Tourism Board's Leisure Guide.

The board's Executive Director Clara Chong today said the PDA guide is tailor-made for business travellers, helping them explore new facets of the city, and encourage them to extend their stay and spending by taking part in more leisure activities.

"Targeting the practical needs of business visitors, we have adopted a simple, convenient and interactive model to deliver the most up-to-date, useful and diverse travel information," she said.

Special features

Available for free download, this electronic guide features a user-friendly interface, interactive search engine, digital map and language guide.

Visitors can make use of the search engine to locate over 5,200 shopping and dining outlets accredited under the Quality Tourism Services scheme, and can search these outlets by product, cuisine type or location. They can even search for events and performances in town by date and by event type.

To further assist visitors in getting around town, there are demonstrations of common Cantonese phrases like greetings, bargaining and food orders.

The PDA edition of the Hong Kong Leisure Guide for Business Travellers is available in English, and traditional and simplified Chinese. Visitors can download the application free from the board's website.
