Michael Suen to attend education forum
*

Secretary for Education Michael Suen led a delegation to Singapore today to attend the International Education Roundtable to discuss education systems worldwide.

Upon arrival in the afternoon, the delegation held a meeting with the Mainland delegation led by Vice Minister for Education Prof Hao Ping, and had exchanges over the latest education developments on both sides.

At the roundtable tomorrow, Mr Suen will share views on how Hong Kong will meet the challenges ahead, school leadership and the teaching profession, as well as the role of technology in teaching and learning with education leaders from the Mainland, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Sweden and the US.

He will hold meetings with Australian and Singaporean officials, and will join the 9th World Convention of the International Confederation of Principals to listen to school leaders sharing experiences in meeting modern challenges in school leadership.

Mr Suen's trip will include a visit to a local primary school and a secondary school to see their achievements in areas including gifted education, professional sharing and support among teachers.

He will also deliver a speech on nurturing talent for new opportunities during a dinner talk organised by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Singapore on Hong Kong's latest developments.
