A government delegation will leave today for a five-day visit to Jiangxi Province for a better understanding of the province and to foster closer working relations and communication between the two governments, with a view to enhancing co-operation in the Pan-Pearl River Delta region.
This is the Government's second visit to the PPRD region. The first visit to Hainan Province took place in December.
The PPRD region includes nine provinces in the Mainland - Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan - and Hong Kong and Macau. Led by Deputy Secretary for Constitutional Affairs Grace Lui, the delegation comprises representatives from the Constitutional Affairs Bureau, Trade & Industry Department, Invest Hong Kong, Labour Department, Planning Department and The Office of the Government of the HKSAR in Beijing. Also joining the visit is a Hong Kong Trade Development Council representative.
