Hong Kong Secondary Four students have won a gold medal and five silver medals at the International Junior Science Olympiad.
More than 280 secondary students from 47 countries and regions participated in the Olympiad in Bali from December 2 to 10.
Open to 15-year-olds, the competition tested their analytical and problem-solving skills.
Chau Chun-wang from St Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary & Primary School won gold, while Wong Yuet-to from Diocesan Girls' School, James Tong from Diocesan Boys' School, and Prudence Mok Wong Chi-fung and Chan Chak-fu from La Salle College won the silver honours.
Chau Chun-wang, Wong Yuet-to and Prudence Mok took third place in the Experimental Competition.
The Hong Kong team members were selected at a screening session held by the Education Bureau, the Association for Science & Mathematics Education, the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence Teachers Association and the Academy for Gifted Education.
