Secretary for Education Eddie Ng will join Hong Kong students in Shanghai to take part in activities to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Dr Sun Yat-sen's birthday on October 21.
The programme, to be held between October 19 and 22 in Nanjing and Shanghai, will include visits, exchanges and discussion sessions for the participants to have better understanding of Dr Sun's life and related historical events.
On October 21, Mr Ng will visit Fudan University and accompany Hong Kong students to take part in visits and learning activities on campus.
He will also meet with leaders of the Municipal Education Commission and visit an enterprise, to be followed by a gathering with Hong Kong people living in Shanghai.
Under Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung will be the Acting Secretary for Education during Mr Ng's absence.
