Fair to help mature job seekers

The Labour Department will hold a large-scale job fair at Yau Tong Community Hall on September 22 and 23 offering 2,500 vacancies for middle-aged and elderly job seekers, the department announced today.

 

Forty-six enterprises will offer positions including clerk, Chinese medicine dispenser, customer service ambassador, domestic helper, shop assistant, cinema staff, cook, waiter/waitress, security guard, technician, driver and cleaner.

 

More than 70% are full-time jobs with monthly salaries ranging from $8,000 to $16,000.

 

Nearly all vacancies require Secondary Six education or below and 75% are open to job seekers without relevant experience.

 

The fair will be open from 11am to 5.30pm.

 

Job seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.
