The Chief Executive, in his capacity as City University Chancellor, has appointed Chung Shui-ming as the university’s Pro-Chancellor from August 1 for three years.
Mr Chung was appointed to the university’s council in 1998, and served as treasurer, deputy chairman and chairman between 1999 and 2008.
According to the City University of Hong Kong Ordinance, on the authorisation of the chancellor, the pro-chancellor can exercise the powers and perform the duties of the chancellor, including conferring degrees and other academic awards in the name of the university.
