Class rainstorm announcement revised

June 16, 2016

The announcement of class suspension will be issued simultaneously with a red or black rainstorm warning signal, the Education Bureau said today.

Classes of AM and whole-day schools are to be suspended all day when the red or black rainstorm warning is issued before 8am.

If the warning is issued at or after 8am, students should continue to attend class at schools.

This will ensure parents and students are informed of the class suspension arrangements as soon as possible, the bureau said.

It reminded the schools to take appropriate action to ensure student safety upon the issuing of a rainstorm warning signal.

A school briefing on the revised arrangement will be held in early July.
