The Co-ordinating Committee on Basic Competency Assessment & Assessment Literacy today submitted a report on the review of the Territory-wide System Assessment, or TSA, to Secretary for Education Eddie Ng.
Mr Ng told reporters the committee has made a series of recommendations to avoid over-drilling students and applying undue pressure on them in the implementation of the TSA.
He said he supports the direction of the recommendations and agrees with them in principle.
The recommendations include inviting 50 primary schools to take part in a try-out Primary Three TSA scheme to validate the revamped TSA paper design.
The committee proposed reducing the scope of the tests and suggested different formats for schools to report TSA results.
The Education Bureau will inform the schools after details are finalised in the coming weeks.
