The 2015 quota for the Hong Kong/France Working Holiday Scheme has been doubled from 200 to 400 following an enthusiastic response.
Welcoming the quota increase, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung said the scheme has been well-received since it was launched in 2013.
"The arrangement has provided an excellent opportunity for youths from both economies to enrich their global exposure and broaden their horizons by experiencing the local culture through living and working temporarily overseas while holidaymaking."
He said the Government will review the scheme's operation with the French government and seek to increase future annual quotas if necessary.
Any Hong Kong person aged 18 to 30 who holds a HKSAR Passport or a British National (Overseas) passport and has not benefited from this scheme before can apply for a visa under the Hong Kong/France Working Holiday Scheme.
Successful applicants can stay in France for up to a year, during which they can take up short-term employment, and engage in a study course of up to six monhs.
