2015 World Book Day Fest set

March 20, 2015

The 2015 World Book Day Fest will be held on April 25, to enhance students' reading habits and broaden their reading horizons.

Themed ‘Towards a Reading City’, the event is jointly organised by the Standing Committee on Language Education & Research and the Education Bureau.

The fest will begin with a keynote speech ‘Challenge & Opportunities to Achieving Quality Language Learning & Teaching of Hong Kong’ by Prof Piet Van de Craen, an internationally renowned scholar.

It will be followed by sharing sessions conducted by schools, families, government and non-governmental organisations on their experiences in promoting reading and writing across the city.

Other reading-related activities are Flashmob Theatre, Rugby in English, reading sessions, and a book exhibition.

The fest will be held at St. Francis of Assisi's Caritas School. Heads of schools, teachers and school librarians are invited to enrol online through EDB's Training Calendar System before April 17.

Students and parents can enrol via SCOLAR's website.
