The Chief Executive has appointed Andrew Liao as Chairman of the Council of the University of Science & Technology for a three-year term.
Secretary for Education Eddie Ng welcomed his appointment saying he is devoted to public service.
Mr Liao has twice served as a Non-official Member of the Executive Council for nearly 10 years in total and has held various important public service appointments.
Vice-Chairman Martin Tang has been serving as Acting Chairman since the passing of Marvin Cheung in September.
Mr Ng thanked Mr Tang and Mr Cheung for their efforts.
