Job agency fined

March 05, 2015

Satisfactory Employment & Travel Centre has been convicted and fined $8,400 at Sha Tin Magistracy for overcharging job seekers.

The company, located in Tai Wai, was also ordered to refund excessive placement fees to the foreign domestic helpers involved.

The Labour Department cancelled the agency's licence in November.

Employment agencies cannot charge job seekers fees or charges other than the prescribed commission, which is set at 10% of the worker's first month's salary.
