ATV has had 42 more summonses laid against it for wage offences today, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung said.
The Labour Department issued the summonses on the Department of Justice's advice. Half the summonses are against the company, and the other against the director. Altogether ATV and its director have been issued 76 summonses so far.
Thirty-four summonses were issued on New Year's Eve against ATV and its director for not paying staff from July to September. These will be be heard in court on Friday, Mr Cheung said.
The Labour Department will help the employees acquire legal aid if they decide to apply for ex gratia payments from the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund, but this can only be done after the employer is insolvent, he added.
