A contractor was fined $105,000 at Fanling Magistracy today for violating safety regulations that led to a worker's death in February.
The Labour Department said the worker was engaging in floor laying work at a site in Lok Ma Chau on February 7.
He is believed to have plunged three metres to his death through a void in a cockloft to the ground.
The contractor violated the Factories & Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations.
