The Social Welfare Department is inviting applications for a training subsidy for children from low-income families who are waiting for subvented pre-school rehabilitation services.
The subsidy will enable the children to acquire training and treatment provided by recognised service providers to facilitate their learning and development while awaiting subvented services, the department said.
Each eligible child can receive a maximum monthly subsidy of $2,763 or $3,867, to acquire training services provided by recognised professionals, including special childcare workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech therapists.
The department will send letters to parents or guardians of children on the waiting list for pre-school rehabilitation services to invite them to apply.
