Secretary for Education Eddie Ng said the bureau has set out a contingency mechanism to reduce traffic chaos tomorrow - the first day of the new school year.
Speaking to the media after officiating at the inauguration of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business MBA Programme today, Mr Ng said he is concerned about potential risks from protests on students' traffic safety. He hopes there will be no deliberate attempts to disrupt traffic on the first day of school.
He added that he does not support students striking in any manner as it will disturb their study progress.
