Secretary for the Civil Service Paul Tang visited the Labour Department today to inspect its work and chat with staff.
He inspected its Labour Relations Division and was briefed on its conciliation service which helps employers and workers resolve disputes.
He said he was pleased with the department's commitment to providing comprehensive employment services and fostering harmonious labour relations.
He then visited the Hong Kong East Job Centre where he watched a demonstration of its job search terminals and interactive employment services through its website and recruitment centres dedicated to the catering and retail industries where on-the-spot interviews with employers are arranged.
He concluded his visit by meeting staff representatives, and encouraged them to continue offering efficient and professional services.
