Labour chief backs new assistant

Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung has praised his new Under Secretary Stephen Sui, who was appointed today.
Mr Cheung said he is an outstanding candidate with experience in various bureaus and departments and is highly respected in the community.
He said Mr Sui has worked with him in the past and is well-connected with the welfare sector.
On standard working hours, Mr Cheung said the Government is still studying the issue which is complex, and time may be needed to build consensus in the community.
He said he appreciates the work the Standard Working Hours Committee has done to garner public views on the issue.
