Bright future:  Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung (fourth right) and guests attend the video premiere.

Youth video series debuts

July 31, 2014

The Labour Department and Radio Television Hong Kong today premiered the Life Taking a Turn series of short videos following the encouraging development of three youth employment programme trainees.

Speaking at the premiere, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung said these real-life stories show the Youth Employment & Training Programme helps young people with different training and employment needs.

He encouraged young people to persevere in the face of adversity and seize career development opportunities.

The three people featured in the videos - insurance company unit manager Freddy Lee, hotel assistant housekeeping supervisor Winky Chan, and aircraft engineer Chen Zhou - share their experiences with viewers.

Enrolment in the youth employment programme is free and accepted year round. School-leavers aged 15 to 24 with sub-degree education are welcome to join.
