Six secondary school students representing Hong Kong at the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad won four silver and two bronze medals.
The Hong Kong team ranked 18th this year, up from 31st in 2013.
The silver medallists were Hui Pak-nam and Wong Hing-shing from La Salle College, Wong Sze-nga from Diocesan Girls' School and Cheung Wai-lam from Queen Elizabeth School.
Yu Hoi-wai of La Salle College and Lau Chun-ting of Diocesan Boys' School won bronze.
The event took place in Cape Town, South Africa, from July 6 to 13.
