Secretary for Education Eddie Ng says the Government will investigate a kindergarten's collection of excessive fees.
He told the media today schools must apply to charge fees at a level over the set limit and justify their reasons for an increase.
Mr Ng said the school concerned stopped collecting the fee after the Education Bureau’s initial inquiry, however, detailed discussion cannot be conducted until the person-in-charge returns from holiday.
Regarding a kindergarten closing due to rental issues, Mr Ng said his bureau will help the affected students find other schools in the district.
