A new round of Elder Academy Scheme fund applications launched today.
Tertiary institutions and school-sponsoring bodies of secondary and primary schools and organisations can apply for funds to set up elder academies, and hold activities promoting elderly learning and inter-generational harmony.
The Committee on Elder Academy Development Foundation said applications should reach its secretariat by June 15.
The scheme promotes continuous learning for elderly people, active ageing, and inter-generational harmony.
In 2014-15 the maximum funding for an elder academy set up in a primary or secondary school is $122,000 for a three-year project, while for those have completed the first three years of their projects, the maximum funding is $60,000 for two years.
