The Chief Executive has asked the Minimum Wage Commission to submit a report on the statutory minimum wage rate by the end of October.
It will start a six-week public consultation on the issue on April 7.
The commission said it will adopt an evidence-based approach in conducting the review.
Apart from making reference to statistical data, it will undertake detailed analysis and impact assessment based on wage distribution data and the findings of other surveys, and conduct extensive consultation.
