$73m granted for education projects

July 13, 2013
Eleven projects worth more than $73 million have been approved in the first round of applications for the new Quality Enhancement Support Scheme under the Self-financing Post-secondary Education Fund, the Education Bureau announced today.

The approved projects include two theme-based and nine open-ended projects.

One theme-based project is a proposal to establish the first joint e-library and inter-library loan system project in the self-financing post-secondary sector.

Another is an e-learning project for senior secondary science subjects, jointly initiated by the Vocational Training Council and the Open University.

The open-ended projects focus on developing teaching and learning tools, enhancing career guidance services and upgrading information systems.

The scheme supports non-works projects or initiatives that enhance the quality of the self-financing post-secondary sector. Theme-based projects are usually joint initiatives fostering collaboration among institutions and organisations.
