9 arrested for counterfeit goods

Customs officers have arrested nine people in a citywide operation to stop retail shops from selling counterfeit cosmetics and skincare products.
 
Six shops in Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok and Sheung Shui were raided in yesterday's operation, and officers seized 755 items worth $100,000.
 
The seized goods included sunscreen, cleansing foam, make-up remover, facial masks, essence and face powder.
 
Eight men and a woman, aged 22 to 48, were arrested.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
 
Customs officers will continue to conduct patrols during the National Day holiday to check for fake products.
