Flying colours:  Secretary for Security John Lee awards graduates at the Fire & Ambulance Services Academy.

Secretary for Security John Lee today inspected a Fire Services Department graduation parade at the Fire & Ambulance Services Academy.

It comprised 23 station officers, nine ambulance officers, 69 firemen and 69 ambulancemen who completed 26 weeks of training.

Noting fire and ambulance services are indispensable to keeping Hong Kong safe, Mr Lee said the Government will support the department's work to ensure its staff can discharge their duties safely and efficiently.

He said an important task for the department in the coming years is to develop the Fourth Generation Mobilising System to replace the current system.

The new system will enhance mobilising efficiency to help fire and ambulance officers protect lives and property. Through collecting and analysing operation data, the system will also help the department to improve its services.

Mr Lee encouraged the graduates to work hard to uphold their mission to protect and save lives.

The parade was followed by a demonstration of firefighting and rescue techniques by the graduates.
