Rearing the young:  Chief Executive Carrie Lam, Secretary for Security John Lee and Commissioner of Police Stephen Lo open the Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre & Integrated Youth Training Camp.

Chief Executive Carrie Lam opened the Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre & Integrated Youth Training Camp in Pat Heung today.

Accompanied by Secretary for Security John Lee and Commissioner of Police Stephen Lo, Mrs Lam officiated at the launch ceremony which was attended by 150 guests.

Mr Lo said the camp, with its wide range of facilities, will provide young people with discipline, physical fitness and team building training to boost their awareness of crime prevention, social responsibility and leadership.

The officials inspected indoor training facilities, including the Crime Scene Investigation Training Room and Fingerprint Identification Workshop.

On trial since April, the 29,000 square-metre camp comprises outdoor training facilities, such as a training area, rope course and zip line, and artificial turf pitch.

The ceremony, a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region 20th Anniversary event, also featured campsite activities for 270 members of Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call.
