The Police will strictly enforce traffic laws in a citywide campaign targeting pedestrians from July 13 to 19 to boost road-safety awareness.
Officers will issue a summons to any pedestrian jaywalking or committing other serious traffic offences.
They have distributed publicity leaflets to remind pedestrians to comply with road traffic regulations.
In the first five months of this year there were 1,340 pedestrian casualties. Among the 26 people who died, 13 were aged 65 or above.
