Police have issued 173 summonses and 1,046 fixed-penalty tickets in a five-day citywide operation targeting driving offences.
Of the summonses and tickets issued, 217 were for seatbelt-related offences, 174 for speeding, 59 for using a hand-held mobile phone while driving, and 15 for failing to observe traffic signals.
Concluding yesterday, the crackdown was to boost driver awareness of road safety.
Police warned that stringent enforcement action against illegal picking up and disembarking of passengers will continue.
