Two illegal workers from Pakistan and India were jailed for 15 months by Sha Tin Magistracy yesterday.
The men, 26 and 31, were arrested in Mong Kok last month while setting up a stall and conveying goods, during a joint operation by the Immigration Department and Police.
Both are non-refoulement claimants holding immigration recognisance forms which prohibit them from working.
They were charged and convicted for taking up employment in Hong Kong without the authority of the Director of Immigration and while being a person in respect of whom a removal order was in force.
