Police will hold a citywide pedestrian safety campaign from December 9 to 13.
Officers will summons jaywalkers and other traffic offenders, and distribute advisory leaflets at various locations.
In the first 10 months of this year 2,797 pedestrian casualties and 64 fatalities were recorded, including 37 elderly deaths.
Compared with the same period last year, there were 120 less pedestrian casualties, five less fatalities, and three less elderly fatalities.
