Police issued 1,493 summonses and 10 verbal warnings to pedestrians failing to comply with road traffic regulations during its October 6 to 12 pedestrian safety campaign.
They issued 1,132 summonses for failing to observe a light signal at a crossing, 142 summonses for crossing the road within 15 metres of a footbridge or pedestrian subway, and 92 summonses for crossing the road within 15 metres of a light signal.
Police reminded pedestrians to cross the road safely and legally or face fines.
