The Thai government has confirmed it did not receive any instruction or direction from another country on its decision to refuse Joshua Wong entry to Thailand.

Speaking to reporters tonight after his Thai visit, Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen said Thai authorities said the decision was made due to the imminent holding of the 2nd Asia Co-operation Dialogue Summit in Bangkok.

A sovereign state has the right to allow or refuse a person entry, he added.
