Customs officers have arrested 15 people and seized over 1,200 counterfeit portable fans, valued at $43,000 in raids on retail outlets in the past month.
The arrestees include five salespersons and 10 store owners, aged 18 to 69. They have been released on bail pending further investigation.
Customs will continue taking stringent enforcement action to combat the sale of counterfeit goods.
Consumers are advised to shop at outlets with good reputations.
