Two foreign illegal workers have been jailed for 15 months by Sha Tin Magistracy on August 19.
During a joint action with the Labour Department on August 17, Immigration Department officers arrested a Vietnamese woman working at a restaurant in Tai Kok Tsui who was later found to be an illegal immigrant.
The other person, an Indian man, was arrested while conveying goods in Kwun Tong during an investigation into a case referred by the Police. The man was a non-refoulement claimant holding a recognisance form which prohibits him from working.
The two were charged for unlawful employment.
