A 41-year-old man wanted for murder and robbery was extradited to Hong Kong by the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department today.
He is the suspect in a March 14 murder-robbery case in Tai Po.
A 71-year-old man was killed and the suspect fled to the Mainland.
Police sought the assistance of the Ministry of Public Security and the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department and the suspect was arrested in Guangdong.
Speaking at the handover of the suspect at Huanggang, Police Director of Crime & Security Au Chi-kwong thanked Mainland authorities for their assistance.
"Police of the two places will continue to step up policing co-operation and exchange of intelligence to combat crimes effectively and safeguard the law and order of Hong Kong and Guangdong," he said.
