Three men, aged 23 to 40, were jailed for up to two months by Fanling Magistracy yesterday for exporting an excessive amount of powdered formula.

Customs officers intercepted them at Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point on July 22 and seized 24.6kg to 27kg of powdered formula, which exceeded the statutory limit of 1.8kg.

Since the regulation on powdered formula came into effect in 2013 a total of 14,365 people have been convicted, with 797 of them sentenced to immediate imprisonment.
