Immigration officers yesterday visited the four Hong Kong people injured in the German train attack with their family members and offered assistance.
The Immigration Department has assisted the families to arrange the transfer of one of the injured from Nuremburg to Würzburg.
It has been maintaining close communication with the insurance company on medical expenses arrangements for those injured.
The Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, Berlin is also assisting the families in seeking financial assistance from local authorities.
Liaison is continuing with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' office in Hong Kong, the Chinese embassy in Germany, the German embassy in Beijing and other agencies to follow up on the incident.
Hong Kong residents in Germany are advised to take care of their personal safety and can call the Immigration Department's 24-hour hotline (852) 1868 for assistance.
