Police again request Lee Bo meeting

February 06, 2016

Commissioner of Police Stephen Lo says the police are continuing to follow up on Causeway Bay bookseller Lee Bo’s case, despite Mr Lee stating in a letter that he did not need to meet with Hong Kong officials.

Speaking to reporters today, Mr Lo said the Police have made another written request to the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department for a meeting with Mr Lee.

He noted that the Police have also requested more information from Mainland authorities on the whereabouts of three other missing people from same bookstore.

Mr Lo said the reciprocal notification mechanism with the Mainland does not have a time limit and notification depends on the nature and complexity of an individual case, adding that both sides respect each other’s laws and jurisdictions.
