Customs officers arrested a 38-year-old man and seized 3,100 pirated television drama and movie discs from an online shop on August 31.
The website was registered in the US while the server was hosted in Hong Kong. The pirated discs were priced and transacted in New Taiwan Dollars, in an attempt to evade Customs investigation.
Officers found that after the online shop received a certain number of orders, it would pack the discs at a Kwun Tong storage location for delivery to customers.
Customs said it will continue strengthening enforcement action against online piracy and urged people to respect intellectual property rights.
