The Immigration Department arrested nine illegal workers and their employers in a citywide crackdown yesterday.
Immigration officers raided restaurants, market stalls and a flat, and arrested two women illegal workers, and one man and a woman suspected of employing them.
Three male and four female Mainland visitors were also arrested for breaching their conditions of stay by being involved in parallel goods trading in Sheung Shui.
Officers seized milk powder, food, daily necessities and electronic products.
A total of 2,463 Mainlanders and 15 Hong Kong residents have been arrested for parallel goods trading since 2012. Of these, 219 Mainlanders have been prosecuted, and 209 of them have been jailed.
