Gov't helps explosion victims

August 20, 2015

Immigration Department and Hospital Authority officers sent to Thailand to help Hong Kong residents affected by the Bangkok explosion have spoken with the injured and families of the deceased about issues including medical transfer and corpse handling.

It has so far been confirmed that two Hong Kong residents died and six were injured in the explosion.

Five of the injured are staying in local hospitals for treatment and one has returned to Hong Kong.

Immigration officers have helped relatives of the deceased to acquire the death certificates and relevant documents.

Some of the injured are in a stable condition and the department will co-ordinate relevant parties to help them return to Hong Kong.
