The Hong Kong Economic, Trade & Cultural Office in Taiwan has been notified that a sixth Hong Kong resident was injured in a fire in New Taipei City two days ago.
The Immigration Department today said the woman is receiving medical treatment in Taiwan where she lives with her family and studies.
Immigration officers visited the woman in hospital and spoke with her family this morning and were told that they want her remain in Taiwan for medical treatment.
The department has also helped two injured Hong Kong residents leave Taiwan for medical treatment. One has returned to Hong Kong, while the other has gone to Shanghai for treatment as requested by her family.
Chief Executive CY Leung today vowed that the Government would continue to step up efforts in providing all the necessary help for the injured Hong Kong residents in Taiwan and assist their families.
