Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen met officials from the Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office in Shenzhen today to discuss co-location arrangements for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link.
He said the Central Government and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region want to ensure the legal framework for the line's co-location complies with the Basic Law.
He said both sides believe an arrangement can be achieved towards the end of 2017 when the railway opens.
He called on the public not to politicise discussions over the issue.
Secretary for Transport & Housing Prof Anthony Cheung also attended the meeting.
